Since 1973, the DRC has supported students with disabilities to help remove barriers within the academic environment and to help students advocate for an equitable education at UF. In 2018 we created our new mission and vision that is grounded in a Social Justice framework. Our new mission and vision states “The Disability Resource Center (DRC) in the Division of Student Affairs celebrates disability identity as a valued aspect of diversity. We champion a universally accessible community that supports the holistic advancement of individuals with disabilities.”
Our purpose is to facilitate access for students. While we encourage faculty on campus to proactively make their courses accessible, sometimes accommodation is still necessary. If you require accommodations in your course or anticipate needing course accommodations at UF please see the pages below.
