SOCIAL Gators Mentor Application

SOCIAL Gators Mentor Application

SOCIAL Gators (Student Opportunities for Career, Independent, and Academic Life) is support program for UF students with autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities who want to enhance their skills for a more enriching college experience. A collaborative effort between the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) and the Disabilities Resource Center (DRC), we focus on developing skills in social interaction, independent living, career seeking, and academics through peer mentoring, weekly group meetings, structured dialogue, access to resources, and social connections.

Step 1 of 3

  • As a mentor you are agreeing to participate in this program. It is the expectation that you are a currently enrolled UF student, will attend a mentor training, will attend group meetings (at least 4 per semester), and will assist your mentee to meet his/her goals related to social interaction, independent living, career seeking, and academics. We appreciate your interest in becoming a SOCIAL Gators mentor and look forward to meeting you!
