The mission of the University of Florida’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Office is to remove barriers and avoid creating barriers for all individuals and to continuously improve the seamless accessibility of our campus, programs and activities. Transportation Resources for Students
Transportation Resources for Faculty and Staff
Campus Connector is a free on-campus shuttle service for UF faculty, staff, and students. The service requires riders to validate when boarding using the “GoRTS Fares” app (create a free account with your UF email to allow validation) and is available Monday–Friday, excluding holidays. Times vary by routes and all shuttles are wheelchair-accessible.
GatorLift provides free transportation designed for students, faculty, and staff with mobility disabilities. Service runs Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 11 PM during the semester, and 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM during break weeks. Gator Lift does not operate on weekends or University holidays.
RTS city bus service offers unlimited fare-free access to all routes in the system for UF students, faculty, and staff. Gator 1 ID app or card is required for boarding. Times vary by route and all buses are wheelchair-accessible.
SNAP is a free on-campus, nighttime pooled safe ride service for UF students and staff – customers may request rides using the “UF SNAP by Spare” app with Gatorlink authentication. Service is available 7 nights a week when classes are in session from 6:30 PM–3 AM during Fall/Spring and 8:30 PM–3 AM during Summer. SNAP does not operate during break weeks.
*Students who require a wheelchair accessible van may request this accommodation through the UF SNAP by Spare app or by contacting SNAP directly by phone at (352) 392-SNAP (7627).
Zipcars are available for use by UF students, faculty, and staff 18 years of age and up with a valid driver’s license and may be rented by the hour or day with rates starting at $11/hour or $67/day. Each rental includes fuel, secondary insurance, and 180 free miles.

Lyft
For Students:
UF Safe Rides by Lyft offers students discounted Lyft Standard rides within a geofenced off-campus service zone Wednesday through Sunday between the hours of 9 PM – 3 AM (excluding break weeks).

For Full-time Faculty and Staff:
Campus Cab by Lyft offers free Lyft Standard transportation for full-time UF faculty and staff engaged in official university business from 7:45 AM to 5:15 PM, Monday to Friday. The service includes the Main Campus, East Campus, and a limited number of UF-owned off-campus locations.

Parking Decal and Event Parking
If you are a student, faculty or staff member and park on campus using a state-issued Disabled Persons Parking Placard, you are also required to purchase a UF Disabled Persons parking decal. Visit the Transportation and Parking Services website for more information on decals and accessible parking.
Animals are prohibited in any and all buildings on campus with the following exceptions:
(1) a Service Animal, limited to a dog or miniature horse and excludes emotional support animals, as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 413.08, Florida Statutes, that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.
(2) an Assistance Animal, limited to an animal that works, provides assistance, or performs tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability or provides emotional support that alleviates one or more identified symptoms or effects of a person’s disability, within a housing setting, in accordance with the Fair Housing Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1978, that is registered with the Department of Housing and Residence Education.
(3) other animals which are being used by the University for academic, research, or law enforcement purposes;
(4) animals that are student or staff pets, permitted in University housing facilities pursuant to the Department of Housing’s Rules and Regulations.
(5) animals being examined or treated at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
All handlers of the aforementioned animals must comply with all applicable University policies, state laws, and federal laws.

Exceptions may be made for medically-necessary EMDs by contacting your ADA representative. Students will contact the Disability Resource Center at drc@ufsa.ufl.edu, and staff will contact UF ADA Compliance at adaservices@ufl.edu. Student Government and the Disability Resource Center are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for students who experience access barriers within a student organization. These accommodations are available for student organizations that are funded by Student Government.
Executive Board members of each student organization can submit a request below, at least two weeks in advance, to request accommodations for the event.
