Joining Delta Alpha Pi

We’re very excited to see you’re interested in Delta Alpha Pi! DAPi will be hosting various panels, lectures, socials, and events throughout the year. Membership in the Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society is limited to students who fulfill the eligibility requirements (listed below) but we will be holding some events that all students can attend.  

Membership is open to both undergraduate and graduate students at UF who meet the following criteria: 

All students must: 

  • Present with a documented disability and work with one of the faculty or staff members in the Office of Disability Services, or self-identify as an individual with a disability; 
  • Demonstrate an interest in disability issues 

Undergraduate students must have: 

  • Completed a minimum of 24 credits; 
  • Earned an overall Quality Point Average of 3.10 on a 4.00 scale. 

Graduate students must have: 

  • Completed a minimum of 18 credits; 
  • Earned an overall Quality Point Average of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale. 

 Member inductions will take place at the end of the spring semester. Member dues are $25.  

Mission 

Delta Alpha Pi is an honor society founded to recognize high-achieving students with disabilities who are attending colleges and universities as undergraduate or graduate students. The mission of Delta Alpha Pi at the University of Florida is to destigmatize disability, celebrate diversity, and provide a supportive community for high achieving students with disabilities. 

Goals

The purpose of Delta Alpha Pi is to: 

  • Recognize the academic accomplishments of college and university students with disabilities, 
  • To facilitate development of leadership and advocacy skills; 
  • To provide opportunities for members to serve as mentors and role models; 
  • To provide educational programming related to disability issues for the campus and community.
