The DRC offers a range of captioning and interpreting services in order to meet the needs of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. To receive these services, you must be registered with the Disability Resource Center and receive captioning or interpreting accommodations. Please speak with your Learning Specialist about which accommodation is most appropriate for you.
Please submit requests captioning services prior to the beginning of the semester or as soon as your course schedule is finalized. Processing for captioning requests can take up to two weeks.

Canvas captioning provides captions for courses housed on the Canvas platform which have video lectures or content. Canvas captioning is available to students who receive captioned video as part of their DRC accommodations.
Students must submit a separate request for each course in which captioning is needed.
Live captioning services provide a real-time text transcription of spoken lectures and dialogue. With this accommodation, students can follow along in real-time on their laptop as their class lecture is captured by a trained captionist.

American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting
Deaf or Hard of Hearing students approved for the ASL Interpreting accommodation can request ASL Interpreting services for all class activities.
Students must submit a separate request for each course where an ASL interpreter is needed.
