C-MAP (Campus Map Access Project) is a collaborative effort conceived and developed by the Disability Resource Center (DRC) and implemented by Facilities Planning & Construction. C-MAP was envisioned as a multi-layered, multi-phased accessibility update to the University of Florida's online campus map.
The nearly complete first phase of C-MAP includes updates on level of accessibility of approximately 85% of the sidewalks and pathways within and surrounding the main campus. The map also includes accessibility updates on building entry points, as well as the accessibility level of more than 200 bus stop locations serving both campus and community patrons.
Field survey work for C-MAP has been completed by DRC Staff, with invaluable field and technical assistance provided by graduate student assistants. The success of the past 3 years would not have been possible without the dedication and technical knowledge of these Departments of Urban & Reginal Planning students, technical guidance and design criteria assistance from Facilities Planning & Construction, and moral and financial support from the Division of Student Affairs.
