Mission & Vision

Delta Alpha Pi was established in 2018 and is an honor society founded to recognize high-achieving students with disabilities who are attending colleges and universities as undergraduate or graduate students. The mission of Delta Alpha Pi at the University of Florida is to destigmatize disability, celebrate and champion diversity, and foster a supportive community for high achieving students with disabilities. Delta Alpha Pi aims to facilitate conversations on disability and accessibility, promote self-advocacy, and engage in community events on disability-related topics.

General Body Meeting Information

Delta Alpha Pi general body meetings are held once a month both on Zoom and in person.

Induction and Graduation

Delta Alpha Pi hosts a banquet at the end of each semester celebrating induction and graduating seniors. In order for members to be inducted, they must meet a minimum point requirement by attending DAPi events and general body meetings. Please check back soon for the Spring 2023 banquet date.

Once members are accepted, in order to get inducted, members must meet a minimum point requirement by attending DAPi events and general body meetings.

Membership is open to both undergraduate and graduate students at UF who meet the following criteria:

All students must:

  • Present with a documented disability and work with one of the faculty or staff members in the Office of Disability Services, or self-identify as an individual with a disability;
  • Demonstrate an interest in disability issues.
  • Pay membership dues of $30

Undergraduate students must have:

  • Completed a minimum of 24 credits;
  • Earned an overall Quality Point Average of 3.10 on a 4.00 scale.

Graduate students must have:

  • Completed a minimum of 18 credits;
  • Earned an overall Quality Point Average of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale.
